How to be a boy

After watching and playing with Alex all day yesterday, the day after Christmas, it occurred to me that I've got to do a better job writing things down. Alex is a boy...period. I think if we write down enough stories we can make a book called, "How to be a boy".

Alex and I got home in the early afternoon. He started playing immediately with his new vehicles including Lightning McQueen, Mater, truckboni, airplanes, and tractor. I had a ton of stuff to unload and filled up the kitchen. My goal was to try to put a lot away and get the house in order. Did not happen because Alex had other plans. First we played with "train set" and added the bridge, new train, and additional tracks. Then it was the fishing game. Then playdoh. Then we set up the sea monkey tank. Then back to trains. In between there were two bowls of cereal. Then running his vehicles through the playdoh. By the end of the day the house was a disaster and so was Alex. He had chocolate milk all over his face, shirt, and socks, which warranted an "uh oh." He spilled chocolate milk on the couch. His pants had playdoh plastered on the knees.

Alex can keep himself busy but he also loves to have someone play with him and I am happy to oblige. The joy I get from it is indescribable. Alex plays hard, takes everything in, and gets a full day everyday.
